The Green Chair is the largest painting I have done so far, it was completed last winter, when I had time off work. I cleared out my living room and set up a temporary studio and worked on this for about a month. It is Oil on Linen and is nearly 2 metres by one and a half.
I used thick and much more deliberate brush strokes, than previous paintings, particularly in the floor boards and on the wood of the chair, to help describe the form, shape and also place bold colours next to each other to see how they inform and affect one another. This has helped me with the painting I am currently working on.
